I don’t know about all you other momma’s out there, but when I found out I was having a baby girl, my creative mind started! We all know little girls are so fun to shop for and they always have the cutest things. The first thing I thought about was making the perfect Nursery for her. I was so excited to get started on it even though I was told by many she would never be in it for about the first year. I was still looking forward to getting creative and have something new to decorate!
When Alex (My Husband) and I got married I made this soft, subtle, romantic back drop for us. I held on to it thinking that one day if we so happen to have a baby girl, this would be hers. I wanted her to have something special in her room from our special day. So, this was the first thing I thought about when I began planning her Nursery and theme.
I took this same backdrop added an additional color to match her bedding and made it as an accent wall, hanging it behind her crib. It was absolutely perfect and every time I go in there it takes me back to one of the best days in my life. I can’t wait to share this story with her one day.
We got her bedding from Babies R us, I saw it there and put it on our registry to soon find out that they may discontinue it. I loved it so much I couldn’t risk it and we bought it ourselves but, it so happens they still have it.
We got her Crib, Dresser, and Rocker at Babies R Us also. Her crib is one of those all in one that allows you to convert it to a toddler bed then eventually a twin. It was pricey but beautiful, an investment, and worth every penny in our eyes. When we got her dresser, I loved the fact that they had locking drawers so when she gets older and wants to investigate everything, she won’t be able to open it. Both the crib and the dresser are a beautiful pearl ivory color with bow accents, just elegant. Her Rocker was a custom color, I knew I wanted something light but not too light, this was a perfect in between.
We found these baskets at Home Goods, the other baskets holding all her books at the container store and spray painted them gold to match. Filled these up with Diapers making them easy to access for those messy changes and filled the others with all kinds of different books for her night time stories.
Of course we had to get some small details in, we bought this going home outfit from a cute little etsy shop its so adorable! We had to make sure our baby was always protected by our lord above, so we placed this cross in the center of her mobile perfect for always protecting her.
All and all I am so proud of her nursery and how it turned out, its perfect for our beautiful baby girl. I fall in love with it all over again every time I step in there. I know she will enjoy it many years to come!
